multiman's 6 figuire spending leaves a lot of questions. with the most pressing being "where the F#%K is the money going!?"
multiman has been revealed to have spent over $500k in /pay commands, leaving many to wonder where on earth is the money going.
A recent post by Juniperfig shows that recently elected president Multiman155 has spent $587k on /pay commands with nothing in return in the last 12 days, with most of that money presumably being used for Multi's election campaign.
In my last post I estimated that Multi had spent between $100k and $50k, a very large amount for a campaign. However, it seems I massively underestimated him, with Multi spending more than 5 times my largest estimate. With Multi paying new players $150 per ad, and /ad allowing for an ad every 15 minutes, we can calculate that he had spent around $170k. Adding in the $30k he spent on ads in #campaign (see my previous post), we can estimate that Multi has spent somewhere around $200k on campaign ads.
However, that leaves us with a massive question: where did the rest of the money go? After all, according to Juniper's post, Multi has spent $587k on /pay commands, leaving a $387k gap. I think it's fair to assume not all of this money is going to the campaign, so for a nice even number, let's say $87k was spent on unrelated things, leaving us with a round and smooth $500k campaign budget. Even if we were to assume that the $200k estimate from earlier is off, and that Multi has somehow spent $250k on new player ads, it still leaves half the budget going into who knows where.
So where is the money going? Frankly, I don't know. While I doubt there is any concern, the more cynical may say that Multi has bribed or rigged the election, either by paying the DoS or paying new players for votes, and while I'm sure his political opponents will jump on this accusation, I'm not so sure. For one, Multi was already a favourite even before the presidential debate, and after the debate and the 6/7 strike, he pretty much already won in many people's eyes. Why would he need to rig an election he was already projected to win?
So that again leaves us with the question "where is the money going?" A question which I have no satisfying answer to, but I promise to update you all as this story unfolds.
