The DeepslateThe Monarchist Threat on our Borders
An Address to the Public
"On this tenth day of June, I write as a concerned citizen about the increasing encroachment of Alexandria upon the lands of The Wild, and the threat such actions pose to Redmont itself."
Several months ago I authored the International Community Framework Act, this act was intended to provide Redmont with lawful methods and diplomatic pathways to secure soft-power influence in territories beyond its direct jurisdiction, while also facilitating greater interaction with sister servers for the purpose of supporting flourishing international roleplay within, and potentially beyond, the Minecraft Cities Network.
Yet on Saturday, June 6th, we saw confirmations that Alexandria has become the first recognized state actor to formally stake its influence in a foreign Wild polity, while Redmont resigned itself to uncertainty over whether it can make treaties or formalize relations with the Wild communities at all.

The Territory of McYass-Queendom has relinquished its diplomatic independence to the State of Alexandria, while retaining autonomous government in our backyard with Alexandrian government support. While DHS actions in the Wild have only intensified the diplomatic necessity of this decision for the Territory of McYass-Queendom as a matter of survival against state-sponsored griefing, it is now clear that the path of diplomacy has failed this Wild polity. The result is an alarming precedent: Wild territories aligning themselves with the only other state actor formally recognized by the Commonwealth of Redmont.
I do not blame the government or Congress for failing to act quickly enough to capitalize on these matters. It is unsurprising to me that the colonizing monarchists of Alexandria chose to capitalize on the slow changing bureaucracy of the Commonwealth. The DHS alone is not capable of managing either the diplomatic responsibilities of the Wild or the political allegiance of territories oeprating beyond Redmont's formal jurisdiction.
My recommendation moving forward is two fold.
First, The State of Alexandria must be engaged politically by the Commonwealth of Redmont and compelled to back away from foreign claims within Redmont's sphere of influence. The monarchy should provide formal guarantees that this will not happen again, and those guarantees must be upheld by the Alexandrian government.
Second, reparations must be pursued for Alexandria's breach of the spirit, and potentially the letter, of Article 1 of the treaty, Alexandria made a non-trivial promise to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Redmont. By attempting to influence Redmontian citizens through the recognition of a foreign-aligned territorial claim, Alexandria has undermined that promise and endangered the Commonwealth's diplomatic position. This McYass-Queendom is nothing more than the beginning of a forward operating base for Alexandrian plots against the commonwealth, a foothold on our server.
The arrogance of the State of Alexandria, in pursuit of its claimed excellence, to believe that Redmont would accept such an outcome is truly obscene. If these causes and consequences are not seriously explored, I recommend the formation of a lawful citizens' defense organization, a citizens' militia, to protect the Commonwealth's interest where the government has failed to act.
Our elections, the hearts and minds of Redmontians, and the very source of Redmont's wealth have never been more at risk than it is today in light of the state of Alexandria's alarming rise in influence.
