The Head Museum
Redmont's oldest museum.

The Head Museum is the oldest museum in Redmont. I, ko531, am its owner, and I have kept it going for nearly 4 years. The Head Museum has an older join date than most active players. This article tells the tale of the place, explains its history, and shares a bit of my history on this server. This will delve into the circumstances surrounding its creation and the changes it underwent to survive for 3.5 years.
First, we must start outside of DC to tell the true origin of this museum. Heads drop on DC at a rate of 75% whenever anyone dies. To acquire heads for a museum requires a lot of death. This process can be sped up if I were to cause such death with murder. But before joining DC, I was already committing hundreds of murders in another city/government server I will not name for server rules reasons. This amount of murder on this other server led to prison sentences that were up to 2 days long, with no way to work off that time.

So when making the transition to DC, I was already a mass murderer. Even though I joined in November of 2021, I did not start killing until the beginning of October of 2022. To my surprise, I started collecting heads. The previous server did not have heads drop on death, so this was new. This also means I originally was just killing to kill. That has changed since.
Along with a mass collection of heads, I was also collecting a massive amount of debt from the murder fines. This accumulated to about $40,000 that had to be paid to the DHS (DOJ back then), which I had no way of paying. This led me to slow down my murders in the middle of October to search for a way to make money.
The Predecessor to the Head of the Museum
My first adventure to pay off these debts was the culinary business. I found a cheap premade restaurant located at C523 and bought the plot. At this point, I was only known as a serial killer, so I leaned into that for my branding. I called it the Killer Cafe. I hung heads of my kills around the walls of the place, kind of like how theme restaurants will hang photos or items on the walls matching the theme.

The Cafe was short-lived. I did get the president of the time, Deadwax, to do a photo shoot there to try and boost sales, but it was of no use. Back then, custom foods had very little use, so no one bought them. I only had about 2 recurring customers buying muffins as they gave speed 2.

The Cafe only lasted a couple of weeks. Not only did it not make much money, but I found a better way to pay my debt to the government. What was that method? Selling over 18 stacks of LSD to shops in the black market. This was before Microsoft's EULA cracked down on IRL drug use. The Cafe does serve as the predecessor to the Head Museum, being the first time I put heads on display for people to see.

The Beginning
After becoming debt-free and finally having money to spend, I decided to start my next journey. The Killer Cafe gave me the idea to find a purpose for the hundreds of heads I had, and so I bought plot c077, which was close to spawn, to make a museum. On November 1st, 2022 that museum was finished and opened to the public. This marks the beginning of the Head Museum and also makes it the oldest museum in Redmont history. The Redmont Museum would open 3 days later on November 4th, 2022.

The first form of the Museum was terribly impractical. It was a simplistic build made of only quartz that had 28 floors. There was a floor for each letter plus one for either numbers or punctuation marks. The top floor had the heads of all the active staff members displayed on armor stands. The other 27 floors had heads organized alphabetically and displayed on item frames. Not only was this a terrible way to display the heads, but the number of entities from the item frames caused the area to lag.
The museum, when opening had heads from about 200 different players on display. This number would grow until it got to over 500. By this point, I had realized that the current museum was not built for future growth. I had to redesign the museum to make it more practical and easier to expand.
The Middle
In early March of 2022, 4 months after opening it for the first time, I had started designing a new museum in the build world. After a couple of days, I had finished it. I opened a DCT ticket, and after a couple more days on March 5th, 2023, the new museum was pasted onto c075, c076, and c077. The first two plots were the only connecting plots to the museum that I would acquire later after opening. The new Museum was made of mostly sandstone and granite and only has 2 floors. The first displayed all active staff members and every president on armor stands, while the second floor displayed heads alphabetically in barrels.

This new museum had enough space for 4 barrels or 108 heads for every letter of the alphabet. This left me with plenty of room to expand for the future. It also removed all the entities and floors, making it less laggy and easier to view. This museum would go untouched for about a year.
The Present
That Museum could not last forever. The Museum kept expanding until that 4-barrel limit was reached by the letter S, while a few other letters were close. I had no room to expand any further display barrels, so I decided to redesign the museum. I decided to keep the sandstone and granite design and just expanded the museum into 3 larger floors. This allowed for more space to display heads but also more types of displays.

This version of the museum had five display areas. The first floor had all the presidents and active staff members on armor stands. While the second floor had the current congress and executive also on armor stands. The basement accessed behind the stairs by elevator was the archive. This displayed the heads alphabetically in barrels of players who were not on the other floors.
Shortly after updating the museum in February of 2025, President LCN would award me with an Order of Redmont for my dedication to this museum. This is where it was also, for the first time, officially recognised as the oldest museum in Redmont.
Later on, for the safety of the heads and to prevent lag, I would remove the armor stands on the first two floors and relocate them to barrels as well. This freed up some space to expand and add to some of the exhibits. The president's area had a second barrel added for all the vice presidents. The Executive and Congress areas were combined, with the addition of a judicial display, and a new display was made. A display that helped teach players about head collecting by showcasing the various head plugins from the years, each of which produced different heads.
This is where the Museum sits today. It is located on the same plot as it had all those years ago, and the collection is only growing. Currently, it has heads from over 2,500 unique players and is close to 10,000 heads in total. It has the heads of every president, vice president, senator, speaker of the house, judge, justice, and chief justice. It also has every staff member ever, about 95% of all representatives ever, and every secretary of every department except one. The collection is not only the largest on the server but the most expansive. The time and effort to track down and collect all these heads could be its own article. I hope you have enjoyed reading my trip down memory lane.
