Wax Wing NewsSports. How do they fit into our society?
Note: This is NOT sponsored, I am not being paid for this, nor am I in debt to anybody
I recently had the privilege of attending a GFC event, where I witnessed two contenders battle it out for glory and money, with a surprising twist. This experience made me wonder: just how important are sports in Redmont society?
Context
A couple of days ago, I saw an advertisement for “The GFC,” a boxing league based in an arena called “The Octagon.” Since I had not written an article in a couple of weeks, it seemed only fitting that I visit and report on the fight. What fell before my eyes was something I could not overlook—its brutal nature felt heartless, yet strangely addictive, especially with an unexpected twist I could not have anticipated.
The Actual Fight
The two players fighting were KorroMF and Evidock, two respected competitors in the arena. After a lengthy battle, Evidock won the first round. However, moments later, in the middle of the crowd’s cheering, Evidock collapsed to the ground with a bullet in the side of his head.

Medical personnel quickly administered first aid while the crowd erupted into panic. The perpetrator was TheEmeraldGuy, a notable politician, who was quickly killed, removed from the premises, and blacklisted. When I asked the owner of the GFC, CGoat on Discord, for comment on the tragedy, his response was vague: “Yeah, he’s still permanently banned.” No further official comments have been given.
Despite the incident, Evidock decided to continue fighting through the pain and ultimately won 3–0.
My Thoughts
I personally enjoyed the event a lot and would encourage my friends to attend as well. However, if the security and quality of the premises remain the same with blood visible wherever I walked I do not know if I would be able to return or overcome my fear of being shot.
The venue has a no-weapons policy, yet even when I accidentally brought my diamond sword in, nobody corrected me until at least five minutes after I entered.
Final Message
To all sports convention owners: thank you for providing entertainment, but please, add proper item checks so I can feel safe inside Redmont again whilst living my best lives.
