Minecraft's Biggest Democracy Has Fallen - Now What?

There once was a great and powerful nation. No... not that one. This one. The great nation of Redmont. Some of you may have heard of it, as it was recently mentioned in a somewhat notable creator’s video.. .Jaron something? It’s hard to understand how one of the greatest and most notable political roleplay servers in Minecraft history quickly devolved into mass shutdowns, resignations, and even a civil war. But this story does not start with Jaron, and surprisingly, does not end with him either. But to understand this, we have to go back to the beginning....
Part 1 : The beginning
The Commonwealth of Redmont as it is referred to was established in 2020 with the establishment of the Democracy Craft server. From what can be gathered from the fairly scarce wiki, the first Congressional Election was held in May of 2020. While I will not be doing a comprehensive review of the server’s history at this time, it is broad in its reach over the last six years (in this article, at least. comment if you’d like to see that next).
Over the years, Redmont has seen continued development. As a new player myself, I’m still trying to unravel the disorganized pile of wiki pages and their endless barrage of indiscriminate internal linking. Something to consider bringing the archivist’s in on, tbh. It is easy to see that it has developed into a tight knit group of very passionate, dedicated players. Long term players who I have met in my short (48 hours) time on the server have been inviting and kind, and the realistic roleplay feature has been surprisingly exciting. Even those who have discovered Democracy Craft via the YeahJaron video have enthusiastically taken to the political scene, with the very quickly established “United Jaronites Party”, a progressive/moderate party of those who joined after discovering Democracy Craft via the YeahJaron video. Again, let me know if you’d like to know more. Not the current topic though. As it would seem, however, this dedicated community of players may willingly bring about the downfall of the server.
Part Two : The End
So, this is the End. ... No, like, THIS END. Xendeavour is one of two owners of the Democracy Craft server. Throughout his time on Democracy Craft, he has, at one point or another, served as President, Chief of Justice, and Speaker OR President of the House. A more in depth listing of his positions can be seen in the image below. In notable recent news, he was impeached in March of 2026. He is currently, once again, running for the office of President of Redmont. Surprisingly, that is not the reason he is currently causing headlines among Redmontians. Redmontians? I don’t know. Anyways.
On June 6, 2026, End took to the server announcements thread within the Democracy Craft discord, discussing very publicly his less than ideal behaviors. Specifically, at this time, End (as he will be referred to moving forward), refused to remove references to an individual’s dead name. The details are somewhat fuzzy, as posts and documentation have been removed by the co-owner(s) almost as quickly as they’ve been posted. What is clear is that two individuals began to speak out after End pushed back against removing one of their deadnames from old forum posts. I will not be naming names, though they can easily be found online. Ultimately, a suggestion was added in the appropriate #suggestions channel in the DC Craft discord to remove End, at which time End seized control of the discord and went on a banning spree. After his public complaint concerning what he claimed to be “harassment” in an official server announcement channel, all hell broke loose.
Part 3: The beginning of the End (fr this time)
After End’s post, June 7th, 2026 became one of the most historic days of Democracy Craft’s history to date, excluding the establishment of the server itself. And yes, you heard that right. 6/7. You can’t make this s*** up.
The morning of June 7th, the other co-owner, James Fletcher, made a post stating “the truth about what happened”. The announcement significantly failed to mention the explicit actions of End that occurred during his ‘brief’ seizure of the server. It also listed conditions for End’s continued involvement moving forward and the difficulty of removing End from the server, no matter the suggestions.
Of course, the server exploded in a frenzy of sit ins and protests, leading to even more bans, moderations, and more. It should also be noted that End reached out directly to another significant member of the community, Juniperfig, essentially blaming HER for her “harmful” rhetoric and, once again, avoiding all accountability. This information was shared by Juniper via her personal gnomestack blog. eIn the same post in which Juniper shared the DM sent to her from End, she also called for a General Strike. That’s right, everyone striking the server to make a change.
That, my friends, is when the floodgates opened. At 3:33pm, the Department of Public Affairs and its union declared a full strike. Within thirty minutes, a call was made for the Dissolution of the Senate, based on the current climate as well as offering opportunities to the influx of new players. In the same moment, a call was made to dissolve the House of Representatives. Less then 15 minutes later, the mayor of Aventura, the fishing town of Redmont, declared its secession from the commonwealth. Not long after, the supreme court and federal court went on administrative leave, followed swiftly by the Department of Health AND the Department of Construction and Transportation going on strike. No evictions, no new builds. You get sick? No doctor for you. By 10:14, the quickly approaching presidential elections had been delayed. Not to mention, people were still actively protesting at city spawns and around the community, proudly displaying their Pride hats. It’s hard to determine when exactly Juniper posted again because, well, time zones, but she followed her call for strikes with an additional post fully elaborating on End’s numerous breaches of staff policy, at least those during her 18 months involvement on the server. You can check out her post directly to see the totality of his offenses.
It’s hard to say if this was definitively the cause, but during this time, server bots were also not working. Automated payment systems for work done off the game were disabled, among a plethora of other functionalities. Wanted to update sharing permissions with your husband? No can do. (It’s me, I was the one trying to update share permissions). Its unclear if this had anything to do with all of the strikes, but its hard not to make 4.*
Part 4: A new beginning
You like the cheesy titles? Anyways. After hours of protesting, maintenance issues, staff exits, and THE ENTIRE GOVERNMENT GOING ON STRIKE... it happened. James announced that he has taken the action to remove End from the staff team. Through consultation with legal representation and trusted associates, it was decided that End’s removal was in the best interest of the server. So.. what now? We’re not really sure. James has stated he is not making any other decisions on staffing or government at this time, and he will share more once he is able. While End will be removed from staff and all decision making, he will continue his role as a silent partner in the “business” itself. He also stated in a separate post that elections and government bodies are hereby frozen until further notice.
From this announcement, the server exploded with excitement. I happened to be the first to drop the news in chat so... yknow. hot stuff. Speaking directly with Juniper about her impact on the entire process, she stated to me, and I quote, “I suppose I’d like to thank everyone so much for listening to what I was saying and running with it. Every single one of us did this together, and that is really fucking cool. I love democracycraft. “
If you liked this content, please let me know in the comments. It was a fun experience from start to end, and I’m enjoying following these stories. Seeing as I’m one of the newest journalists and owner of DC Connect, I’ll be following Democracy Craft News from here on out. Follow if you want more.
*I can now confirm that the bots were, in fact, not working. According to a statement made in another discord, economy and finance bots were taken down to allow the server time to handle the internal issues.
