The Day After a Revolution

This sucked, let's not do this again

Hi all :) Thank you Floor for taking the cover photo!!!

Thank you everyone so much for your bravery and trust over the last few days. I am so proud of us for banding together and standing up for DC. I am so so thankful for the support and unity we have shown through this tough time, and I'm really really hopeful for a better future. I love DC so much !!!

I've had a few people in my DMs and in the main server who seem to believe I despise End and I'm furious with this outcome and it wasn't far enough and blah blah blah. I want to set the record straight: This is a fantastic outcome. We cannot resort to ostracizing End. He is still a 50:50 owner of the server. We will never "get rid" of him fully, so we need to move on. We cannot keep dragging up dead horses to beat them. The horses are pulp. There is nothing left. The only thing we are doing by continuing to beat the horses is causing pain for the server, and none of us want to see it.

I am fully in support of End taking a step back for 12 months to reassess his relationship with his owner position and his relationship to the community. All I wanted was for him to apologize to us all, reflect, and make a change. This server is his baby as much as it is our baby, and despite the list of mistakes he has made, I still want him to be able to share the community with us when comes gets back.

End is not solely responsible for this whole kerfuffle. He has faced insane amounts of hatred, doxxing, and a near total lack of compassion from the DC community over the last 6.5 years. While he should still have to take accountability for his actions, there have been MANY instances of completely unwarranted and ridiculous accusations that are re-litigated every couple of days. He does not get a break from this. He hops on to DemocracyCraft and is constantly slammed with critiques and complaints and harassment, both justified and unjustified. Having your own community be so staunchly against you must be really hard to process, and I lay no blame at End's feet for being defensive and trying to fight back against what he perceived as another circlejerk hategroup trying to tear him down out of spite. I know how hard it can be to admit fault when the world is against you, and I am so thankful to End for apologizing and agreeing to the deal. I think that took a lot of bravery and should be celebrated.

I will continue to watch him, and I will call him out if he starts to slide back into old habits. But we also need to create a community that will welcome him back in June 2027. We need to make a community that is united and willing to call out injustice, but is just as willing to forgive when people prove they are trying to change.

I forgive End for everything he has done. I hope you can all learn to forgive him too, and I hope a year from now he'll come back motivated to do what is best for the community, not what is best for End. I believe in him.
