An interview with Rep. @EmeraldGuuy

Redmont Record just had an exclusive interview with @EmeraldGuuy. And we are here to break down everything for you! We asked him 11 questions about his rise to power and how his process felt going from a fresh new player to an influential position in Democracy Craft. It’s emeralds fifth week in the server and the fact that he got elected is wild. We asked him, What first motivated you to get involved in the political scene on the server? Looking back at your early days on the server, did you always think you would run for a legislative seat? What was the core message or platform of your campaign that you believe resonated most with the voters? Walk us through election day—what was the energy like, and how did it feel when the final results were announced? What was the single biggest challenge you encountered during your run, and how did you overcome it? How did you balance active campaigning with your day-to-day routine and other server responsibilities? Who were some of your biggest mentors or supporters throughout your journey to getting elected? Now that you have secured your seat, what is your top priority for your first few weeks in the House of Representatives? For other citizens looking to get involved in public service, what is the most valuable lesson you learned from your campaign? And, How do you plan to stay connected with your constituents to ensure their voices are accurately represented in Congress?
For his responses, we will format this in a Q&A
Question: What first motivated you to get involved in the political scene on the server?
Answer: “When I first joined, I made a goal for myself: get to DSoH or Senate. My entire time on the server I have tried and tried to get as high as I can in gov.”
Emerald joined Democracy Craft just 4 weeks ago, in the heat of the Jaron wave. This was his first election he ever voted in and participated in. It is wild to see how even the newest players can get into such amazing positions.
Question: Looking back at your early days on the server, did you always think you would run for a legislative seat?
Answer: “Yes. Like I said above, my plan was always to run for the House (maybe eventually senate!) and win lol.”
El Questiono 3: What was the core message or platform of your campaign that you believe resonated most with the voters?
El Answero 3: “I believe my promise to get my bill, the Save the Country Act, which put a $25 fee on gun licenses, lowered gov wages, and adjusted some tax brackets things, was the main reason I was elected. Getting this bill through toke alot of time. I spent most of my birthday even trying to get it passed in the House.”
Emerald was apart of the UJP, he was one of very few members from his party elected.
Question 4: Walk us through election day—what was the energy like, and how did it feel when the final results were announced?
Answer 4: “On election day, I stopped campaigning for myself. I asked my fellow running mates what I was able to do to help. Eventually, I stopped so I could watch the live results. Waiting through the entire live stream basically, I was anxious, stressed, and mad at myself that I didn't campaign enough. Although when I was announced to have won a seat, my heart skipped a beat and I started to celebrarte. The live stream was 25 secs behind, so the way I found out was because Melowy1 actually told me because I guess there was another place to check that updated faster.”
Every candidate was obviously stressed on Election Day, but for Rep. Emerald, that stress turned into relief and joy.
Question 5: What was the single biggest challenge you encountered during your run, and how did you overcome it?
Answer 5: ”My biggest challenge during the race were all the people trying their hardest to make me lose. I do admit that a few people really hate me and said many nasty things like "you will never amount to anything" or falsely accusing me of fraud. My lawyer suggests I don't go further into the topic.”
Question 6: Who were some of your biggest mentors or supporters throughout your journey to getting elected?
Answer 6: “As I said in my press release, the people that helped me the most were the Three Big Political Guys. That includes MJL, Troniq, and Anton. MJL helped me every way they could and always was there. I trust them more than anyone else on this server. Troniq invited me to the UJP, my current party, and taught me many things. Anton was always just chill. We aren't in the same party, but we always have worked together well.”
MJL was the backup lawyer representing Yeah_Jaron in his court case near the end of his Democracy Craft video.
Question 7: Now that you have secured your seat, what is your top priority for your first few weeks in the House of Representatives?
Answer 7: “First I want to secure DSoH. Once that is done, I want to propose 5-7 bills that people have asked me to put onto the House floor. I also want to rumble Alexandria.”
For those who don’t know DSoH means “Deputy Speaker of the House”. Also 5-7 bills is a lot, cannot wait to see them put on the house floor
Question 8: For other citizens looking to get involved in public service, what is the most valuable lesson you learned from your campaign?
Answer 8: “From my campaign I learned one major thing: alwasy try to be nice to all of your competition, alwasy be nice to all of your voters, and be nice to everyone around you. It helps so much.”
Question 9: How do you plan to stay connected with your constituents to ensure their voices are accurately represented in Congress?
Answer 9: “I plan to use discord and if anyone wants to contact me they can at @EmeraldGuuy”
Our last question asked him about his violent remarks to Alexandria and he said “Oh, the rumbling of Alexandria stuff? I would like to say that money was killed by Alexandria, Shenanigans was just taken hostage, and ever since they gained 2 more players on average, our economy has gone down hill. There is no other possible explanation.” Recently, the congress voted to rumble Alexandria, leaving both sides citizens worried that a war will break out. Government press secretary @tortenwashere said “I find it both distressing and saddening to find Congress waging a "rumble" to our neighbor nation that we have formed close ties with.” Anywho that’s a story for another day. Thank you to Rep Emerald for agreeing to do this and thank you guys for reading, tune in soon for another article!
